What is a football IQ test?
A football IQ test measures how well you understand the decisions inside a play rather than the highlights around it — coverage structures, gap responsibility, defensive line alignment, protection schemes and quarterback reads. This one is eight questions drawn from the concepts our flashcard decks teach, and every answer comes with an explanation so the quiz itself teaches you something.
What is a good football IQ score?
Most people who watch a lot of football land between 3 and 5 out of 8. Scoring 6 or higher usually means you have played or coached. Scoring 2 or below is normal for newer fans and parents — the vocabulary simply has not been taught to you yet, which is exactly what Volume 1 fixes.
Who wrote the questions?
They come from the American Football IQ card decks, built by a Division I quarterback and college coach. Each question maps to a concept taught in one of the volumes — terminology and coverages in Volume 1, line play in Volume 2, quarterback reads in Volume 3 and receiver play in Volume 4.
How long does the quiz take?
About 60 seconds. Eight multiple-choice questions, one at a time, with an explanation after each answer.
